Settings - E-mail

There are numerous features which require the CMS to send out e-mail. Some features include: the contact form, newsletter system, user registrations, and error reporting. The settings below control the behavior of how the CMS sends out e-mail.

Mail Type
This setting sets which method to use in sending out e-mail. By default, SMTP is preferrable because it is less likely to be caught by the recipient's spam filters or mail server security applications.

All of the following settings apply only if SMTP is selected.

SMTP Host
Enter the host name to your mail server. On Insty-Site, your host name will always be "mail.yourdomain.com".

SMTP Username
Enter the username to login to your mail server. This is unnecessary if authentication is set to NO.

SMTP Password
Enter the password to login to your mail server. This is unnecessary if authentication is set to NO.

SMTP Port
Enter the SMTP port that your mail server is expecting. On Insty-Site, the default port is 25, which is most common.

SMTP Authentication
This setting determines if authentication is necessary. If your mail server does not require authentication, you may set this to NO. Insty-Site servers do require this to be set to YES and the above login information to be populated.
