Settings - Photo Gallery

Default Photo Gallery Layout
The photo gallery has two layouts to choose from: list view and thumbnail view. List view lists the photo vertically. Thumbnail view stacks three photos to a row in columns. This setting determines to which layout the gallery defaults. The viewer can change the layout if controls are accessible.

Gallery Controls
This setting determines the state of the controls in the photo gallery. The controls can be links only, graphics, or off.

Layout Switch
This setting is an independent toggle for determining if viewers may switch photo gallery layout.

Photo Width Limit
The photo gallery displays photos in three resolutions: thumbnail, low resolution, high resolution. This setting determines the maximum width in pixels of the low resolution display of each photo. Photos will be resized via HTML down to this width if necessary. This setting should never be wider than the pixel width of your middle column. See Manage Templates...

Limit Photo Size
Setting this feature to YES will instruct the photo gallery to resize the high resolution copy of the photo down to the Photo Size Limit if necessary. If it is crucial for your photos to maintain absolute quality and resolution (i.e. historic photos, documents which must remain readable), set this feature to NO.

Photo Size Limit
This setting indicates the maximum pixel width of the high resolution copy of photos if Limit Photo Size is set to "YES".

Use Image Magick or GDLib
Photos can be made into thumbnails and generally manipulated through two methods: GD Library and Image Magick. GD Library is commonly accepted on most servers and requires only PHP with the GD Lib installed. Image Magick produces much better quality results, but requires server permissions to execute the convert binary via PHP exec function. Please consult your server administrator or web hosting service to determine which you may use. If both are available, Image Magick is preferrable. Hosting services at Insty-Site support both methods.

IMagick Convert Path
If you would like to use Image Magick, enter the absolute server path to your convert binary. On Insty-Site servers, the path is "/usr/bin/convert".

Display Date Added
This setting displays the date photos are added on the photo detail page.

Display Number of Views
This setting displays the number of views photos have acquired on the photo detail page.

Display Photo Original File Name
When you upload a photo to the photo gallery, the filename will be scrambled to avoid overwriting files that already exist. This setting displays the original filename of each photo on the photo detail page.

Display Photo Contributor
This setting displays the username of the user who uploaded the photo to the gallery on the photo detail page.
